ISO 45001 Health and Safety

The committee draft of the new ISO 45001 standard has now been published. This new standard will replace the British Standard (BS) OHS&S 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Standard, making it an international standard.

You may ask why it is not going to be called ISO 18001 as that would be easier to remember, but unfortunately that title was taken many years ago by an international standard for radio frequency.

In June 2014 we wrote an article explaining why the standard was changing and why, you can read the article here https://batalas.co.uk/how-to-guides/health-and-safety-ohsas-18001/iso-45001-latest-update-june-2014/

Also, ISO have just published an interview with David Smith the Chairman of the committee that is developing the new standard, you can read the article by clicking here

The published version of the standard is due in late 2016, as soon as more detail is available we will be publishing full details.
