PAS 2050, the world’s first standard to help businesses measure the carbon footprint of their goods and services, is to be updated and revised two years after it was first published.

More than 30,000 organisations and business all over the world have downloaded the free standard since its creation and BSI is now encouraging businesses of all sizes and sectors to help with suggestions on how it can be improved.

BSI is working in conjunction with the UK government departments focused on business, environment and energy to clarify ambiguities that have become apparent over the last two years and to align PAS 2050’s methodology with other carbon footprinting methods.

The new standard is available free of charge from the BSI website.
