During this CQI and IRCA Certified QMS Foundation course, delegates will be taught the following –
- What is a Quality Management System (QMS)
- Understanding the requirements of ISO 9001:2015
- The ISO 9000 family of Standards – ISO 9000, ISO 9001 and ISO 9004
- QMS principles and terminology
- The process approach
- The PDCA Cycle (Plan, Do, Check, Act)
- The risk-based thinking concept
- Continual improvement
ISO 9001:2015 requires organisations to ensure that personnel are “competent on the basis of appropriate education, training, or experience”. This ISO 9001 Foundation course provides delegates with the essential knowledge required for an organisation to manage a QMS effectively.

What is the format of the course?
- Virtual and Classroom courses combine tutor-led sessions interspersed with individual and team-based exercises (approx. 25% theory and 75% practical).
- The Online version of this course consists of 10 training modules, which include lessons in the form of presentations, videos, animations, engaging activities, and quizzes. The bite-size modules are approx. 30 minutes each so can easily be completed around other commitments.
After booking the course, joining instructions are sent via email – these will include unique log-in details along with links to the Digital Learning Portal – learning can then begin!
Delegates have 30 days to complete the course. Access ends upon completion.

What is the course assessment?
- Delegates attending an ISO 9001 Foundation Virtual or Classroom course will be assessed on their participation and general performance during the course, including any interactive exercises and activities.
- Delegates learning via the ISO 9001 Foundation Online course will have knowledge checks in the form of quizzes throughout the course.
- 100% course attendance is required (CQI and IRCA rules)
