Who should attend this ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Auditor Conversion course?
- Any existing lead auditors that wish to be able to conduct 1st party (internal), 2nd party (supplier) and 3rd party (external) audits of an information security management system (ISMS) that conforms to ISO/IEC 27001:2022.
- This course is only suitable for those who have successfully completed a 5-day Lead Auditor course (in any standard, i.e. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc…). Please note that if a delegate intends to register with CQI and IRCA, the Lead Auditor course must have been CQI and IRCA-certified.
- Anyone involved in planning, managing or implementing an ISO/IEC 27001:2022 information security management system.
- Staff/managers who need to identify gaps in the effectiveness of an information security management system to help ensure the organisation remains compliant.
- This course satisfies the training requirement for anyone wishing to register as an Auditor with IRCA (International Register of Certified Auditors)

This course is based on the latest version of ISO 27001, which was updated in 2022. ISO/IEC 27001:2022 supersedes previous editions ISO 27001:2013 and BS EN ISO/IEC 27001:2017.
ISO/IEC 27001:2022 specifically requires that personnel are competent – this course provides essential skills and knowledge to help delegates become fully competent auditors.

What is the format of the course?
- Training combines informative sessions alongside individual and group activities (approx. 25% theory and 75% practical).
- A case study is used throughout the course to support skills development.

What is the course assessment?
- Assessment is based on a delegate’s overall course participation, including the interactive activities.
- Delegates are required to have 100% course attendance (a CQI and IRCA rule).
- Following the course, delegates must complete a 1-hour 35-minute online e-assessment with multiple-choice questions. This can be completed on a date/time convenient to each delegate but must be within 30 days of the course date (a CQI and IRCA requirement). For best results, taking the exam as soon as possible after the course is recommended. A webcam, microphone and speakers are required for the e-assessment.

What certificate is provided?
- After attending the ISO 27001 Auditor Conversion course and passing the exam, a CQI IRCA certificate will be supplied.
Please note – passing the ISO 27001 Auditor Conversion course exam is equivalent to passing an ISO 27001 Lead Auditor course exam; therefore, the certificate is of equal value.
