Every month Batalas recognises the achievement of one of our delegates and welcomes them into our Hall of Fame.

The Outstanding Achievement Award for January 2015 has been awarded to Lieutenant Steve Currie, a Training Assurance Officer within the Defence College of Technical Training’s Royal Naval Air Engineering and Survival Equipment School (RNAESS), HMS Sultan.

Steve attended the Batalas IRCA Approved Auditor/Lead Auditor training course in Southampton in January 2015, and scored an amazing 88 out of 90 in the examination. This was the highest score of any Batalas delegate worldwide throughout the month of January 2015.

Steve commented that “Part of my current role is to act as the lead auditor for my section within the RNAESS so the course gave me an opportunity to enhance my understanding within this area. Receiving the award is pretty surreal as I wouldn’t consider myself a quality control expert yet, however with the training they have provided and the training from the Royal Navy against The Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) Quality Standard (QS), which is our own standard for training managers, the experience has essentially put me well on my way.”

Steve attended our 1 day ISO 9001 Foundation training course to give him a good understanding of the ISO 9001 requirements followed by our 5 day ISO 9001 QMS Lead Auditor training course that taught him the tools and techniques of how to conduct 1st party (internal) audits, 2nd party (supplier) audits and 3rd party (external) audits.
