IRCA approved training courses or "standard" training courses?
IRCA (International Register of Certificated Auditors), a division of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI), is the world's largest and best known auditor certification body. An IRCA approved training course has to meet exacting criteria as successful completion of these courses counts as one element towards registration as an IRCA registered auditor.
Very few people who complete IRCA approved courses have any intention of becoming an IRCA registered auditor, they usually select these courses because:
- IRCA approved courses meet high standards of design and presentation
- being trained on the same courses that certification body auditor are trained gives an insight into how they approach audits, which certainly improves confidence when dealing with third party auditors
Many of the training courses to ISO 9001: 2000 offered by Batalas in the public domain are IRCA approved, however, Batalas also offers "standard" or "non-approved" training courses. These training courses have the advantage of being designed and delivered to the same exacting standards of an IRCA approved training course but with the flexibility for tailoring elements of the course to meet individual client's needs. Also, whereas IRCA approved training requires formal assessment of each student, including written examinations, "non-approved" courses have the option to exclude this element of the course.
