Batalas offers a cost effective route to gaining a recognised ISO 14001 environmental management systems certificate. We have helped over 2,500 organisations to gain a management systems certificate. Our experience includes manufacturing, service organisations, office-based organisations and the public sector.

ISO 14001 Certificate

An ISO 14001 certificate demonstrates your organisation's commitment to improving your environmental performance. Many of your customers, existing and potential, are demanding an ISO 14001 certificate from their suppliers, regardless of their environmental impact. However, the value of an ISO 14001 certificate depends upon the credentials of the organisation issuing the certificate. In the UK a certificate issued by a UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) accredited certification body will be accepted by all public and private sector organisations. Certificates issued by other organisations may not be accepted by your customers. Batalas will only recommend UKAS accreddited certification bodies, or other IAF (International Accreditation Forum) members. For more information on accreditation and certification read our FAQ section.

ISO 14001 Certification Process

To gain an ISO 14001 certificate requires you to design and implement an environmental management system and then have your system assessed to ensure it meets the requirements of ISO 14001. The key stages are:

  • identify the environmental legislation that applies to your organisation
  • identify your organisation's significant environmental impacts
  • design and implement a management system that adresses your impacts and legislation
  • submit your system for independant assessment against ISO 14001 requirements

Batalas can support you in the first 3 stages of gaining an ISO 14001 certificate, and we can suggest a suitable certification body for the 4th stage. See FAQ.
